JM Venture into Nano-Composites with Air Filtration System
Johns Manville has launched CombiFil Nano, a composite of polyester spunbonds and nanofibres for air filtration to improve industry standards in air filtration.
JM claim that the innovative nanostructure allows for a highly sophisticated balance between superior particle retention and outstanding air permeability, creating a development in air filtration performance. The filtration performance of CombiFil Nano is characterized by higher initial filtration efficiency compared to standard products.
CombiFil Nano is thermal and humidity resistant. The product consists of 150g/sqm polyester spunbond and less than 1g/sqm nano fibres.
To develop the nano filtration product, Johns Manville partnered with the FiberMark Gessner company from Bruckmühl, Germany.
Christian Hassmann, business manager-Filtration explains, "The new world-class CombiFil Nano enables Johns Manville to take another step forward as an industry leader. Due to its outstanding pleatability during processing, excellent cleanability and low pressure drop, our customers benefit from a long product lifetime, low energy costs as well as from low overall process costs."
