Associations & Networks
NetComposites coordinates two membership associations:
- NGCC
- East Midlands Composites Network
We also work closely with other significant industry bodies such as the National Composites Centre and Materials KTN in technology transfer activities.
Consultancy
Our intimate involvement with current news and future developments means that we are well-placed to advise on trends in markets and technologies. We are constantly in touch with forward-thinking companies who are looking for new ways of improving or extending their businesses. In parallel with this, we are also highly knowledgeable in a very broad range of world-leading innovations in composite materials and processes, each having the potential to dramatically improve business performance.
Because we keep an eye to the future, we are aware of developments and next-generation technologies that could give you a significant competitive advantage. We are therefore well placed to give you the best possible advice on current technology and business practice, as well as guiding your strategic innovations for future competitiveness.
Training
NetComposites run a series of training courses designed to supply the industry with the skilled personnel it needs to thrive. We offer a range of courses for both beginners and experts which are classroom based lasting one day.
Current courses include:
Introduction to Composites for Engineering Staff
5 June 2013
Introduction to Composites for Commercial Staff
30 October 2013
Introduction to Composites for Engineering Staff
20 November 2013
Workshops
Upcoming workshops:
Design for the End of Life of Fibre Reinforced Composite Materials
25 September 2013, Chesterfield, UK
Events
NetComposites organises networking events for the composites industry, concentrating on innovations and technology transfer to further promote and develop the use of composites. We organise conferences, workshops and courses, a sample of which are below.
Opportunities for Fibre Reinforced Polymers in the Automotive Sector
19 June 2013, University of Warwick, UK
As advances in carbon and glass fibre composite materials move forward, the opportunities to use these within the automotive sector increases. Not only are carbon and glass fibre being explored, but bio-derived composites are also being called upon for their different properties and styles.
Ecocomp 2013
3 - 4 July 2013, Birmingham, UK
Continuing the success of previous Ecocomp Conferences, the 2011 event will explore the future direction of international research and application of sustainable materials, polymers and composites within the academic, industrial and wider social environments.
Advanced Composites in Construction 2013
10 - 12 September 2013, Queen's University Belfast
The sixth biennial Advanced Composites in Construction conference will focus on current topics within the construction industry to highlight the use of fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials in new and existing all-FRP structures as well as strengthening, refurbishment and reinforcement applications in traditional infrastructure.
Non Destructive Testing and Repair of Fibre Reinforced Composites
26 - 27 November 2013, Rotherham, UK
Fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) materials are designed to get the best performance for a particular situation, and their ability to be inspected, maintained, replaced or repaired to a verifiable standard is of prime importance. When damage occurs due to material breakdown from wear, fatigue, external impact or misuse, then the decision to repair or replace is taken. Many replacement parts are very expensive, and so repair must be an option to make a product viable in a service situation.
