iC2MS-06 International Conference on Composite Materials and Nano structures

25 - 29 April 2006, Shah Alam, Malaysia

Over the last few years a new Renaissance in the development and application of composites is occurring. The use of composites in a variety of products from sporting goods to defence and satellites is on the increase. The current research drive towards advanced composites already given new impetus to the birth of new composites and to the improvement of existing products.

iC2MS is the international gathering of scientists and engineers interested in the field of composite materials and structures and its applications planned for April 26-29, 2006 in Shah Alam, Malaysia as an official event of the 10 th Defence Services Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA). This recent rapid development in advanced composite and their application dictates the desirability for a comprehensive exchange of ideas between researchers from all over the world. Recognizing this need the Scientific and Technological Research Institute for Defence (STRIDE), Ministry of Defence; the Institute of Advanced Technology (ITMA), University Putra Malaysia; Sri Jentayu Sdn. Bhd, Composite Technology Research Malaysia (CTRM), SIRIM, KUTKM, Dian Kreatif Sdn Bhd., and MARS is providing an appropriate forum for such an exchange through this International Conference on Composite Materials and nano-Structures (iC2MS-06).

The theme of iC2MS, Composites for Science, Engineering and Defence Applications provides an avenue to present state-of-the-art achievements and recent advances in composite sciences & technologies discuss and identify key and emerging issues for future pursuits. By bringing together leading experts and promising innovators from research institutions, end-use industries and academia, iC2MS is intended to facilitate broadband knowledge sharing and identify opportunities for long-term cooperative R and D ventures.
