Composites Innovation 2010 - Advances in Materials, Design and Manufacture of Large Composite Structures

9 - 10 November 2010

Woodside Conference Centre, Warwickshire, UK

Conference Objectives

Over recent years there has been a trend towards large lightweight structures in many industries including wind, aerospace, construction and mass transit. These structures however, pose considerable challenges to the designer. Material and manufacturing developments mean that fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composites offer a solution to many of these challenges, exploiting in particular their high strength-to weight ratio and excellent durability properties. This conference will provide a forum for the exchange of information on this recent trend to large structures and the need for materials, design and manufacturing technologies to meet that demand.

Composites Innovation 2010 builds on the success of the previous conference in this series held in Barcelona, Spain in 2007.  The conference series breaks new ground by presenting the best quality research and technical innovations alongside detailed case studies demonstrating how to effectively transfer these new technologies into commercial applications.

The conference is aimed at composite users, material suppliers, manufacturers, environmentalists, designers, engineers, researchers and technicians from industry and universities. Alongside the presentations will be a poster session and exhibition in order to show as much as possible the current state of development and the challenges for the future.
