Based at our Honiton plant in Devon, the ideal candidate will be a materials science or chemistry graduate or someone with extensive experience of natural and synthetic fibre use in industrial applications. Working alongside the current UK team the candidate will provide technical support for our internal teams as well as our global customers and distributors.  The primary focus of this person will be the development of new business by applying an up to date knowledge of the latest technical fibres for a variety of established applications and new opportunities.

The job holder will also have responsibility for monitoring and ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements such as COSHH and REACH.
 
Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the practical development and type approval of the key materials used in the manufacture of a wide range of applications using natural and synthetic fibre reinforcement
• Working with sales and manufacturing departments to support distributor and customer needs
• Significant and innovative problem solving.
• Responsibility for assisting with key decisions in the area of materials
• Collating and presenting detailed technical information

Essential Criteria:

• Qualified to Degree standard in a Materials Science, Chemistry or related discipline
• Willingness to travel overseas
• Experience in work-related problem solving.
• Excellent communicator, allied to good IT skills, in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint as a minimum

Desirable Criteria:

• At least 1 years post-graduate experience spent within the industrial sector, preferably in a non woven textile environment
• Some experience working with composites would be advantageous 
• COSHH and REACH experience
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing

• Salary range £18 – 28k depending on experience
