This role will primarily encompass:

  • Production and testing of prototype parts
  • Testing,  validation and economic impact assessment
  • Liaison with suppliers, partners and customers
  • Preparation of task reports
  • Technical management of research tasks
  • Support in the preparation of project proposals

The size and ambition of the company also means that there will also be opportunities for involvement in other activities and business areas, and our philosophy is to allow individuals to grow with the company. Ideally, we are looking for someone with the following experience and characteristics:

  • A good degree in Mechanical, Materials or Manufacturing Engineering
  • At least 2 years experience within polymer nanocomposite or fibre-reinforced composite materials and process development
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of one or more of the following processing methods: injection moulding, extrusion or thermoforming.
  • A practical approach to problem solving
  • Highly computer literate
  • Experience of task management within development projects
  • A broad understanding of a range of plastic/composite materials and applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Knowledge of composite materials design, moulding machine installation and operation would also be an advantage, although not essential. The role will require both UK and European travel.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role at the cutting edge of the plastics and composites industry and we can offer a competitive salary now and excellent prospects for dedicated individuals. We are working towards the Investor in People standard and are committed to nurturing and training our employees.

NetComposites is located in Chesterfield, with modern offices and workshop environment. Chesterfield is a much sought-after location on the edge of the Peak District, one of the most beautiful areas of the UK, and is commutable from areas such as Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham, Mansfield and Matlock.

In preference, please send your applications by email, although unfortunately we are only able to accept applications from candidates from the UK and European Union. No agencies.
