The SAMPE 2002 Symposium Proceedings contains approximately 180 technical papers that were presented during the four days of the symposium. The 2-volume set of the proceedings this year contained the technical papers from the specially organized Nanocomposites and Nanotechnology Forum that consisted of three sessions. For those of you just starting to understand 'nanotechnology,' this collection of technical papers in this important area was found to be well organized and contained good depth. In fact, there were four sessions of papers within this new technology segment. In all there were over 35 strong technical sessions on a wide variety of materials and process engineering topics. The Interagency Working Group on Fire Materials (IWGFM), participating with SAMPE for many years, again organized a set of strong sessions containing papers on the Fire Safety of Materials. These papers are all contained within the proceedings. Preforms technology (2), infrastructure (3), RTM and VARTM (2), space applications (2), thermoset resins (2), E-beam processing (3) and adhesive bonding (2) have numerous technical papers in the Proceeding by virtue of the fact there were multiple sessions as noted by the (x) . </p>
